The formula behind the estimate
Every estimate on this page comes from one formula:
Monthly revenue ≈ 30 × (daily UV / 1,000) × ECPM × pages per UV × ad impressions per page
The constant 30 is the baseline. If a site gets 1,000 unique visitors a day, each visitor views exactly one page, each page shows exactly one ad, and ECPM is $1 — the site earns exactly $1 a day, or $30 a month. Everything else is a multiplier on top of that baseline.
| Input | What it means | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| UV | Unique visitors — distinct people arriving in a day | anything |
| PV | Page views — total pages opened | 1.5 – 4 pages per visitor |
| Ad impressions | How many ad slots actually load and get seen | 1 – 3 (Google's recommended cap is 3 units per page) |
| ECPM | Revenue per 1,000 ad impressions | Under $1 for much Asian traffic; $3 – $6 for US / Western Europe |
Terminology and the 30-dollar baseline follow the method published by Chinese SEO practitioner Gefei (哥飞) in How to quickly estimate a website's AdSense revenue, August 2023.
Why visitor geography dominates the result
ECPM is the single biggest lever, and it is decided mostly by where your visitors are, not by how clever your site is. Advertisers pay more to reach a visitor in the United States than one in Indonesia, and that difference flows straight into your ECPM.
- Tier-1 traffic (US, UK, Canada, Western Europe, Australia): ECPM commonly lands between $3 and $6.
- Emerging markets (India, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey): ECPM often falls between $0.5 and $2.
- Mainland-China-heavy traffic: frequently under $1.
This is why two sites with identical traffic can earn wildly different amounts. A niche tool site attracting mostly US search traffic can out-earn a much larger site whose audience sits in low-CPM regions.
Worked examples
Three worked examples. Run them yourself with the preset buttons above and check the numbers match:
| Scenario | Daily UV | ECPM | Pages / UV | Ads / page | Monthly estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baseline site | 1,000 | $1 | 1 | 1 | $30 |
| Western lookup-tool site | 10,000 | $4 | 3 | 3 | $10,800 |
| Large online calculator site | 60,000 | $2.50 | 2.36 | 2 | $21,240 |
The third row is a real reverse-engineering exercise. In August 2023 Gefei walked through calculator-online.net, which Similarweb estimated at roughly 1.8M monthly visits with 2.36 pages per visit and a traffic mix led by the US (27.5%), Brazil (10.9%) and Indonesia (7.8%). Dividing 1.8M visits by 30 gives about 60,000 daily visitors; assuming $2.50 blended ECPM and roughly 2 impressions per page lands near $21,240/month.
That number is an estimate, not a disclosed figure — the site has never published its AdSense revenue. Treat every result here the same way: a directional estimate that is usually within the right order of magnitude, not an accounting statement.
